#8: It’s Okay to Be That Guy
I think that secretly, deep down, we all have a bit of this guy in us. It’s hard not to judge. Judging someone’s weight is one thing. Actively seeing the food choices that have contributed to that weight, especially when the child doesn’t choose what’s in the cart or on the table, makes it hard not to at least give it some thought.
Habits die hard, though. The parents learn to cook and provide a certain way, and breaking the cycle takes a lot of self-control and self-awareness. Some parents just choose to take the easy route when it comes to nutrition and meals. Many aren’t even aware they’re setting up their kids for the same issues or that there is anything wrong with it.
