I’ve never worked at a pet store, but I know that many pets need a lot more space than people provide for them. I get it, the enclosures are expensive, but that’s a part of owning a pet. They depend on you, and they deserve the best you can give them. If you can’t do right by them, don’t get one!

Small enclosures can stunt the growth of some animals, especially fish. I’m glad to hear this cashier tried to educate people and help them understand why this was a problem. I’m not surprised people ignored the advice – people are selfish, you guys – but at least they heard it. Who knows, maybe they gave it some thought and got a larger enclosure down the road.
