After reading this, I won’t be buying Prima Donna Gouda anymore. I’m not sure I have, but I’ll be keeping an eye out when I go to the store from now on. I wonder what other specialty shops know about the secrets of the grocery store. I bet there is a ton of knowledge out there!

I’m not entirely sure this was as esoteric as the cashier intended. I think everyone can understand the difference between sham cheese and the real deal, especially when it comes to Gouda. That smoked goodness is fantastic and deserves to be authentic. Of course, even the biggest cheese connoisseurs would love my white chicken chili made with Velveeta, so let’s keep things in perspective.
