I 100% agree with this cashier’s assessment. Yes, it’s both parties’ responsibility to ensure protection is used, but don’t put your girlfriend in an awkward spot by making her walk in to get what you both need. Own it and buy them. In fact, if there are any kids reading this – always be prepared and keep one safe in your wallet.

I get why buying this sort of thing would make you feel nervous and self-conscious, no matter how old you are. I’m sure that even people in their 30s sometimes feel embarrassed when they have to buy this sort of intimate item and stare the cashier in the eye as she rings them up. At least today, people can stare at their phones until this awkward moment is over!
