#16: Pity, Not Judgement
This might be a controversial opinion, but I can see where this person is coming from. They don’t judge these people, but they feel bad for them because they sympathize with them. Making a drastic change to our lifestyle and breaking old habits is challenging, and for all we know, these people don’t know any better.

Of course, there’s nothing they can say to them – as a cashier, it’s definitely not their place to say anything; it’s none of their business. I’m sure they say this out of concern not only for their specific customers but for our society as a whole. It’s a sensitive topic that’s hard to bring up, which is maybe why they feel more comfortable sharing this comment on an anonymous Reddit thread.
