Of course, pirates aren’t just fantasy characters; men known as pirates did sail the world, pillaging, stealing, and committing untold terrors. And unfortunately, pirates still exist in modern times. They just don’t look the way we imagine a pirate should look.

These dastardly men didn’t always get away with their crimes. Sometimes the government would catch them and they would be punished with jail time or execution. Other times, Mother Nature would take matters into her own hands and sink their ship. And when she did that, priceless treasures would be lost along with the vessel.
