Frilled Shark
As you may or may not know, sharks are one of the oldest species on earth; they’ve been around for over 450 million years. A frilled shark is still alive today but is widely referred to as a living fossil. This is because he looks so prehistoric, thanks to his coloring and the way he moves. He doesn’t move like a typical shark; instead, his movements more closely resemble an eel or another serpent.
Frilled sharks live in the deepest parts of sections of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, so you should be safe from ever encountering one at the beach. Even if you did, you’d likely be safe. Their favorite food is squid, though they are known to eat other small fish and sharks.
