An Entire Roman City
You’ve heard tales of the lost city of Atlantis, right? It’s long been categorized as a fantasy, nothing more than a myth. However, what if there’s some basis for that legend? In 2017, divers made a shocking discovery that was almost like discovering Atlantis. They found another underwater city, the Roman city of Neapolis.
Around 400 AD, a tsunami struck this city near Tunisia in North Africa. The mighty wave completely destroyed this city and wiped it clear off the continent. However, it wasn’t entirely gone from the earth. Though it had been long forgotten in the following 1600 years, divers found entire streets and monuments, all tributes to the city that once was.
