#43: A Plumbing Problem
This Airbnb horror story is mortifying for both the guest and the host. Our storyteller rented out multiple rooms of his house, and one time the tenant in the upstairs room completely ruined the plumbing of the entire house. For some reason, he was using the shower as a toilet. We know, it’s totally gross. Keep reading at your own risk.
So this guy was going #2 in the shower and trying to use the steam to wash everything down the drain. The downstairs tenant started complaining that the power was going out in his room, so the host went to investigate. The host pinpointed the problem to the bathroom light downstairs, directly below the bathroom of our shower-loving guest. When he unscrewed the light to fix the problem, the backed-up fecal matter from the shower started flooding in, causing over $10,000 in damages and electrical problems they’re still dealing with to this day!
