Even though Airbnb has a vetting process for its guests and hosts, sketchy people slip through the cracks. This person and their family experienced one of the worst things that could possibly happen to an Airbnb host. They got robbed! They used to rent their home out on Airbnb whenever they were out of town as a way to make extra money. They no longer do so after this incident.

It takes a lot of trust in people and humanity to rent out your house – with all your precious and expensive belongings – to someone you don’t know. That’s why some people are reluctant to rent their house or apartment, even if it’s good money. Of course, this one incident is no indication of anything, but I bet it happens more than we’d like to know…
