#42: Too Cool for Pool
When you use Airbnb as a guest, the fear of being charged for damages is always real. This person shared their experience with an awful host who accused them of damaging their pool table. When they first arrived at the Airbnb, a pool table was blocking the door to the master bedroom. Thinking it was weird but not a big deal, they moved the table so they could get into the room.
After returning home from their trip, the Airbnb host sends an enraged message saying the pool table should have never been moved and he will charge them $500 for rebalancing his “ruined” table. This argument makes absolutely no sense. If the host truly cared about his precious pool table, why was it pushed against a wall blocking access to the one bedroom in the space? Our storyteller was able to get their $500 back, but only after getting their bank to record it as fraud.
