#32: Just Give Up Already
What cracks me up about reading this next conversation is that you can almost see the taker’s thought process as they move through the conversation. “She says she won’t deliver? Well, I’ll tell her I don’t drive, so I can’t pick it up! Jackpot! Wait, she can’t drive it either because her car is too small? Well, then, I’ll ask whether it can be disassembled, and hope she gets the hint.”
“Nope, she didn’t get the hint. Maybe I’ll wistfully comment about how much I really want this item, and then she’ll feel bad enough to give in. Nope, no response, I’m losing her! Maybe I will get more blunt about asking her to disassemble it for me. Man, still no answer? It’s like she doesn’t care about catering to my every whim (when she’s the one doing me a favor by giving me free stuff)!”
