Wheeling and Dealing
There’s a time and place for everything. Most of the time, a funeral is not the place to talk business. During their grandma’s funeral, this person overheard an aunt talking business with another attendee. They were not amused. This aunt was talking about “cheaply” buying the grandmother’s house from the storyteller’s family. Not now, Aunt Barb. Honestly.
When someone passes away, it’s normal for the family to sort out the deceased person’s finances, assets, and other belongings. Selling a house is a pretty common part of sorting out and settling the death of a family member. However, talking about money and assets during the actual funeral is in pretty bad taste.
