The Cold Hard Truth
Dying is a delicate business for families and friends of the deceased. However, for cemetery and funeral home employees, it’s just another job. That’s not to say that workers in the business are disrespectful! They just have a level of detachment necessary to take care of arrangements, burials, and other necessities in the most efficient way possible. This person and her family learned that cold, hard truth during their grandma’s burial.
The cemetery groundskeeper asked if they wanted to leave before the crew finished packing the dirt. The family said they wanted to watch all the way to the end. They did– and immediately regretted it. They were subjected to an excavator roughly packing dirt into their poor grandmother’s grave. Even though that’s how all burial plots are completed, it’s not something most families want to see.
