#34: A Good Day to Die Hard
The fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise relies far more heavily on green screen tricks than any of the previous Die Hards, and that’s saying quite a lot. The special effects crew spent over a year perfecting their computer-generated images, hoping to get them just right so audiences wouldn’t think twice about them.
For example, A Good Day to Die Hard is packed with explosions. If the director used actual explosives, especially so often, he would be endangering the lives of his actors and his crew. So, the safest way to create massive excitement is with a green screen. We feel better knowing that nothing was blown up.
