When Space Jam was released, it was hardly the first motion picture to combine real-life actors with animated ones. After all, Who Framed Roger Rabbit had done it beautifully and hilariously a decade earlier. Hey, come to think of it, both movies starred cartoon rabbits! Maybe rabbits are a natural mix with CGI for some reason.

It’s one thing to animate over movie film, but having the cartoon characters interact with live-action settings is tricky. Either way, basketball superhero Michael Jordan honed his acting chops in front of a green screen opposite people in green morph suits. For a man who’s an athlete and not an actor, we are more than a little impressed.
