The green screen tricks in Iron Man are like a combination of Superman and RoboCop. Robert Downey Jr. would have had to wear an unbelievably heavy metal suit to play this superhero, which would not have been realistic. So, he wore a CGI-friendly suit instead, allowing the effects team to build the suit over him on screen.

Tony Stark also used his Iron Man suit to fly, which of course, meant more special effects for the film crew. So, green screens and computer images once again saved the day. But, aside from all that cool stuff, the visor on Iron Man’s helmet would rise and lower on its own. We think that’s the coolest part!
