Frankly, we didn’t expect the behind-the-scenes look at Beauty and the Beast to be so silly. We’re used to seeing the Beast as a terrifying creature, not a man in a goofy suit wearing bouncy springs on his feet. But, honestly, we wonder how Dan Stevens felt the first time he saw himself in this outfit, especially next to Emma Watson wearing that beautiful gown.

This isn’t just any silly suit, however. Instead, it’s a hi-tech sensor suit that captures Dan’s movements so that when they add the computer-generated Beast over his body, the movements appear realistic. As for those weird springs on his feet, they allow him to walk like a creature walking on paws, just like the Beast! It’s a clever touch because he sure wouldn’t walk like a human.
