#36: Adult Food
Here’s a fascinating window into some people’s parenting decisions: apparently, this person grew up in an environment where kids of a certain age are not allowed to eat certain things because it’s “adult food.” Presumably, as a child, she was only allowed to eat peanut butter sandwiches and Doritos. At least, that’s what I considered child-appropriate food at that age.
But really, unless we’re talking about honey—which should not be given to babies, as it can cause infant botulism—maybe we don’t need to be quite so careful about policing when kids are and aren’t allowed to eat things. If this kid likes sushi and steak, what’s the problem with letting them each other?
