#26: Quarters For the Kid
When I was a kid, I thought those quarter machines they had at the front of grocery stores were the most amazing things I had ever seen. Do you know the ones I mean? You could get a gumball for a quarter, but you could also get a little plastic container with some kind of crappy cheap toy inside.

I’m sure I’m not the only child who absolutely lived for those moments when I had a quarter that I could use to get some kind of sticky hand toy or a ring that would immediately turn my finger green. Of course, the toys immediately broke, or I lost interest in them. So I guess I see why my mom only occasionally gave me quarters for them.
