#7: Clean Off Your Plate
I can see why parents sometimes insist that children clean off their plates or at least eat a certain amount. I’m sure we’ve all been in that situation where a kid insists they’re not hungry during dinner time, but a half-hour later, they’re in the kitchen, crying that they’re starving and need food.

But I can also see the importance of being careful about that! You don’t want to create weird relationships with food for your kids, who might either learn to dread eating or develop a compulsive need to always clear off their plate, even when it’s more food than they need.
