Choking to death on a mint – it’s the ultimate example of irony (or minty freshness gone wrong). Did you know that choking on food is one of the leading causes of accidental death? Mints are one of the most common culprits – they’re a tiny but deadly snack. But don’t worry; it’s not all bad news.

The odds of actually choking to death on a mint are pretty slim. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning or attacked by a shark than to meet your end via Altoid. If you choke on a mint, you can always rely on the Heimlich maneuver to save the day, or better yet, why not stay away from mints altogether?
