Here’s an interesting fact: the Declaration of Independence wasn’t actually signed by all the delegates on July 4, 1776. Nope, not even close. In fact, some didn’t sign it until weeks or even months later! And speaking of signatures, John Hancock was the first to sign the document.

But guess what? He wasn’t actually the president of the Continental Congress at the time. That honor went to good old John Dickinson, who refused to sign the Declaration because he didn’t think it was the right move for the colonies. So there you have it – some pretty unusual facts!
