#26: The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym
The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym was actually Poe’s only full-length novel. The book was a bit flop when it was first released. However, it hugely influenced some of the most famous writers of all time, including H.P. Lovecraft and Jules Verne. That’s one slow burn for a novel’s success.

The book is filled with some seriously crazy stuff, like sea monsters, cannibals, and even a guy who turns into a mummy. Just think the Pirates of the Caribbean meets The Walking Dead. It’s a book that’s full of surprises and shows that sometimes the greatest works of art are the ones that take a little time to appreciate.
