#32: Total Eclipse
There are two to five total eclipses every year. The last one visible in the continental United States was in 2017, and the next one will not happen until 2024. The universe is teasing us with its rare and beautiful displays, and their rarity makes them all the more special.

The longest total solar eclipse in the 21st century occurred on July 22, 2009, and lasted for six minutes and 39 seconds. These natural phenomena remind us how small we are in the grand scheme. They’re also a good excuse to break out the eclipse glasses and have a celestial party.
