#18: A Huge Surprise
This thrift shopper had no idea what they were in for when they bought this vintage pitcher at a local flea market. They took it home, cleaned it up, and set it aside. They were in for a surprise when the sun went down and their house got dark. This pitcher glows in the dark! What in the world?

This pitcher is made with uranium glass. It’s widely known that uranium is radioactive and can cause negative health-related side effects. Uranium was used in many different products from the 1880s to 1920s, so this pitcher is from that time. Obviously, the new owner knows not to drink from the pitcher, but it makes a cool decor piece.
