#33: A Carnival Glass Butter Dish
This vintage butter dish is absolutely delightful. Someone found this gem at a yard sale and only paid 75 cents. They were so thrilled with their find that they immediately washed it and set it up on their kitchen table. The butter dish is made of iridescent glass, also called carnival glass.
Carnival glass was popular in the 1920s. It was an affordable glassware option that many people purchased to brighten up their homes during a time when electricity wasn’t commonplace. The iridescent shine brightened up a room and looked good while doing so. It just goes to show that you can still find a dirt-cheap deal on a true antique. All you have to do is look hard enough.
