#9: Dumpster Diving
According to the USDA, up to 40% of the food produced in the United States goes to waste each year. That’s a staggering statistic. While some of that food waste happens at the production level, a lot occurs in retail and consumer settings. This is where dumpster diving comes in handy!
From perfectly good furniture to barely expired snacks, you never know what you’ll find in a dumpster. I’ve never done it myself, but I will not shame anyone engaging in it. But if I saw a child going through a dumpster, I would probably stop and try to help them because something about that doesn’t seem right.
