#27: Home Alone
Leaving kids home alone is like playing a game of parental roulette – sure, it might turn out fine, but there’s always the risk that something could go horribly wrong. About 40% of parents admit to leaving their kids home alone at some point… But doing so without keys, a phone, or food is neglect.
Can you imagine coming home to an empty house every day when you were 6 years old but didn’t even have house keys to get in? What kind of parent does that and then leaves their kid without keys? The fact that this kid’s parents couldn’t see the problem with this is half the problem.
