#25: I Love You
Telling your parents you love them is one of those things that should be easy, but somehow always ends up feeling awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe it’s because we’re so used to bickering and eye-rolling at each other, or maybe it’s just because saying “I love you” out loud makes us feel like we’re auditioning for a Hallmark commercial.
It’s like my brain refuses to let the words come out. Instead, I’ll opt for a slightly less mushy sentiment, like “I tolerate you a lot” or “You’re not the worst parents I’ve ever had.” Just because you might have trouble saying the words out loud doesn’t mean there isn’t anything wrong with you.
