Phones don’t strike me as the best replacement for a soccer ball, but that’s one way to avoid math class and to get the next new shiny thing. What a life, and these kids really need someone to sit them down and help them learn how to value what they have.
Maybe the people in the middle class aren’t really that different, just on a smaller scale. We have the ability to be picky about shirt color, for example. Shirts! Hundreds of years ago, dyes were a very rare commodity, especially the color purple–hence why it’s associated with royalty.
