11. Imagine Judging Someone’s Pedigree by Tortilla Chips
I’ve had different quality tortilla chips, but brand has little to do with it; they’re just better if you get them fresh at a restaurant. I wouldn’t be surprised if the exact same chips were used in different brands. One is just marked up to trick gullible elitists. It’s similar to wine; they say you can tell the difference between a really good wine and a normal one.
That may be true, but the margins are not quite as wide as some of us might think. There have been “professionals” who have tasted a hundred-dollar wine and a regularly priced one together without knowing which is which and couldn’t guess which was the more expensive one.
