19. For Those Who Think the World Caters to Them
This is another one of those evocative scenes that we can all visualize in our mind. Something out of a film noir, maybe? A well-dressed, elderly woman of aristocratic bearing in a dusty old bookshop. That’s unlikely to be what it looked like, but sometimes, you can embellish things in your head to make them more entertaining.

The OP claims in the post that the staff ignored the woman’s demands and eventually she left, so good on them too for not bending over backward. These are people doing their job, not customers’ servants. It’s time to drop the “the customer’s always right” mentality, and rightfully so, many people have.
