Ah, childhood. Back when were more innocent and naive, or at the very least, less experienced and more open-minded. What have we become as adults, being as set in our ways as we are? But some of the beliefs we held ranged anywhere from mildly goofy to outlandish, sometimes even something we took into adulthood. That’s what this whole Reddit thread was about, as people gathered to share some of the most hilarious things they used to think were real when they were children. Let me tell you, it’s a doozy.
1. No Mischief in This Classroom
Those rules limiting you from going to the bathroom are just obnoxious. Sure, kids began to find new and mischievous ways to use it as an excuse to get out of class, but has anyone ever thought about the fact that maybe if they’re trying to bolt all the time, we need a new form of education?
As it turns out, the education system is designed specifically to condition children for factory work. From the bell to having to sit throughout the entire class and only do what they’re told, to having to sit wordlessly and wait for permission to do anything, it’s all there.
