#12: Lord Farquaad’s Castle
Shrek is such an iconic movie that, to this day, people celebrate it in many forms. From Shrek-themed raves to memes and even weddings, the beloved Ogre is a key element of modern pop culture. It’s a movie for all ages since the producers didn’t hold back in the adult comedy department.
Shrek’s wittiness is impeccable. The writers crafted this joke in a way that young kids wouldn’t notice (because it can be related to Lord Farquaad’s height) but adults could also enjoy (you know what else it can be related to). Also, the rumor is that the character is based on Michael Eisner, then head of Disney. The resemblance is pretty blatant. The Shrek folk didn’t like him and crammed as many insults as they could into the character.
