42 Inappropriate Jokes and References in Cartoons That Were Actually Meant for Adults

I actually remember this one. Hopefully, when I was a kid, I didn’t ask my parents to explain to me what that meant. Even though Rugrats is an amazing show, there are some plot inconsistencies I can’t get over. First off, why were those babies rarely supervised? In literally every episode, they just wander off from their parents. Amazingly, they survived at all.

Stu – Tommy’s dad, for those of you who don’t remember – was clearly suffering from clinical depression. Remember when he made pudding at 4 a.m. because he’d “lost control of his life?” All of that, plus Grandpa Lou’s obsession with adult content, is making me think Rugrats was not that innocent of a show.
