35. I Am Cold and Miserable
It’s not the cold that sucks, it’s being soaked in freezing water and sitting in it for hours after. December rolls in with dreams of fluffy snowflakes and snowmen, but often, it’s more like a cold shower that never seems to end. You’re all prepped with the cozy coat and the cheerful spirit, ready to build a snow-pal, but instead, you get drenched by the dreary drizzle of reality.
The rain just adds insult to injury, turning what could be a winter wonderland into a slushy, soggy mess. There’s nothing quite like the squelch of wet socks to dampen the holiday mood. So, we trudge on, our snowman-building plans washed away, counting down the days until we can justifiably wrap ourselves in a blanket and refuse to leave the house.
