The Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders
The Santa Rosa hitchhiker murders are a dark and haunting chapter in the history of Northern California. Between 1972 and 1973, a series of seven (and possibly more) murders of female hitchhikers took place, leaving investigators baffled and the community gripped with fear. Despite extensive investigations and searches, the murders remain unsolved to this day. The victims’ bodies were found in rural areas near steep embankments or near the road…
Now, 50 years later, there is renewed hope that advancements in DNA testing may finally shed light on unsolved cases. Investigators are retesting DNA evidence in the hopes of identifying a suspect or suspects and bringing justice to the victims and their families.
