Ward Weaver and the Concrete Slab
The Ward Weaver case is one that still sends chills down the spines of those who lived in Oregon City during that time. Weaver was a known creep who had been in and out of jail for various offenses, but nobody could have predicted the heinous crimes he would eventually commit. He abducted and killed two young girls, Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis, who were both his neighbors and classmates of his daughter.

What makes this case even more disturbing is the fact that Weaver gave a TV news interview about the girls’ disappearance while standing on the cement slab he poured to cover up their remains. It’s almost unimaginable to think about the level of depravity and evil it takes to commit such a heinous crime and then have the audacity to stand on the very spot where the girls were buried and talk to the media. The house where Weaver lived has since been demolished, but the lot where it stood remains empty to this day.
