A lot of court cases are about providing evidence to support your argument in an effective and believable way. This is why, although you can represent yourself, it is severely frowned upon. Not only do you have a personal investment in the results, but you aren’t trained in presenting facts and laws in the right way.
That is where lawyers come in. They are trained to provide key information to sway the judge or jury. They know the details of the laws, past cases, and how to interpret the data. However, that isn’t the only thing that lawyers can do. They also know how to set up powerful and convincing arguments, which essentially decide if they win or lose the case.
