#11: Mad Max: Fury Road
Mad Max has been a popular apocalyptic film franchise for over forty years, and audiences still can’t get enough. Its dystopian scenery is pretty embedded in pop culture, and we can understand why. There’s something beautiful in the lonely bleakness. Or it could just be those crazy car chase scenes that hooked us.
Car chases are a major element of Hollywood action films, and we’re used to seeing footage of stunt actors performing them. Thankfully, the Mad Max: Road Fury producers knew that what they hoped to show audiences was too dangerous to pull off. So, they used lifts and pulleys in front of a green screen to capture the genuinely deadly stunts they needed.
