#23: Life of Pi, Part II
As sweet as it would be to have a tiger cuddle on our laps, we are realistic enough to know that the chances of us surviving such an encounter would be slim. It was imperative to the storyline to show this scene, but the filmmakers were wise enough to know that using a trained tiger with their actor would be more than a little dangerous.

So, the actor needed to portray this scene with a computer-generated tiger. He needed something to hold on his lap that he could pet, so he was given a blue screen-friendly stuffed animal. No offense, but couldn’t they at least have given him something cute to act with? It might have helped him get into the moment better. He did a great job, nonetheless.
