#9: Cassette Decks
Forget CD-induced nostalgia. Who remembers the good old days of cassette tapes? If you scored a new car that had a tape deck, you were living large. You had some of the best sound system capabilities on the market, my friend. You no longer had to wait for your favorite song to come on the radio. With a tape deck, you could play what you wanted when you wanted.
Sure, cassettes were clunky and took up a bunch of space. But it was what we had at the time. Trust us, cassette tapes were cutting-edge technology in the 80s and early 90s. If you were a music connoisseur, your cassette deck could show off your immaculately curated mixtapes to friends and potential dates.
