#5: Jupiter’s Southern Pole
Jupiter is best known for being the largest and most orange planet in our solar system. We are used to seeing this giant planet represented as simply a big orange ball, but of course, there’s more to it than what we see. For example, what would it look like if we could get a closer view of the planet?
Fortunately, science has gotten a lot better at exploring these distant planets from afar. The Juno spacecraft was able to get pretty close and take some truly spectacular photographs from angles we’ve never seen before. Did you ever wonder what Jupiter’s south pole looked like? We haven’t either, but now we’re utterly fascinated!
