We miss the simple naivete of being a kid. To a kid’s mind, all the problems of the world can be easily solved with simple, straightforward solutions. If only the world actually worked that way. The same line of thinking goes for complicated math and science questions. As an adult, the thought of living on Mars seems daunting and impossible.

To a kid, though? The “problem” of living on Mars is a piece of cake to solve. Why not just trap yourself in a giant bag with a tree? That way, your carbon dioxide feeds the tree, which then feeds you oxygen. It’s really as simple as that. Now that we think about it, how come we’re not living on Mars yet?
