#1: The Titan and Titanic
Did you know that the Titanic carried over 2,200 passengers and crew when it sank? And out of all those people, only around 700 made it out alive. That’s less than a third of the people on board! Unfortunately, they didn’t manage to get all the lifeboats filled up and launched in time to save more people.
And get this – there were only 16 wooden lifeboats and four collapsible ones, which was woefully inadequate for a ship of that size. It shows that sometimes even the best-laid plans can’t account for every possibility. It was hardly unsinkable, and this weird coincidence shows how strange the whole thing was.
