#19: Staying for Excuses
You might think that domestic violence is something from the past. That nowadays, with the rise of feminism, there is no way that women still submit themselves to abusive partners, right? Wrong, my friend, very wrong. Sadly, an estimated 1.3 million women are victims of domestic violence per year in the U.S. alone.

Many women find it hard to leave a toxic partner for a multitude of different reasons; financial, emotional, security, etc. Instead of questioning domestic violence victims why they didn’t leave earlier, the best we can do is train ourselves to recognize signs that someone is being physically and mentally abused.
