Since 1963, women have been venturing into space. Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman to journey into space. Fast forward to today, and about 60 women from different countries have flown to space. However, it still isn’t equal representation compared to the hundreds of male astronauts that have gone.

Even so, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. And with organizations like NASA actively working towards increasing diversity in their astronaut corps, we’re likely to see even more women reaching for the stars in the future. The future truly is female – perhaps we’ll see that space travel may be one day, too!
