5 tricks against dry lips
Dusty and dry lips often appear as a letter on the post as soon as the outdoor temperature drops in the fall and winter months. But there are some simple tricks that give you your soft and kiss-friendly lips back. We list the most effective ones.
Five tips for softer lips
Lubricate the lips with moisturizing lip balm, preferably greasy varieties containing jojoba or almond oil. Shea butter and vitamin E also do the trick for the lips.
Apply a plentiful layer just before you go to bed so it will work during the night. Do you like sheet masks for the face? Then it is a must to also test a lip mask that seems moisturizing.
Avoid lipstick as most people wipe their lips further.
We know, if you are used to spice up your look with a colorful lipstick, you can easily feel naked without it. But then make sure to choose a lipstick that seems moisturizing, most preferably choose a light-colored lip balm.
Peel your lips through gentle circular movements with a peeling sponge, a warm, damp towel, or a toothbrush. But do not take in too hard then the treatment does more harm than good. For those with major problems, for example, there are fatty ointments that nourish the lips and make them soft again.
Cold winter days are dry lips often a bigger problem than in milder weather so be sure to protect the lips a little extra with lip balm which is often called “cold cream”. A plus at the edge is to use lip cream/lip sill or cereal with SPF to provide extra protection, preferably every day of the year.
We know it’s hard, but whatever you do, don’t lick dry lips! Do you feel dry and need quick moisturizing – shower your face with a nice and nourishing face mist!
