Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart
In the late 1950s, famous pals Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart almost wrecked their thirty-year friendship because of a huge fight over politics. Fonda was super into being a Democrat, while Stewart was all about being a Republican. They were so close to throwing punches! But just before things got really bad, they patched things up and promised never to talk politics again. Little did they know, the craziest part of their friendship was still to come.
When Henry Fonda’s ex-wife, Margaret Sullavan, died in 1960, their daughter Brooke wrote a really juicy book that spilled all the beans about her mom’s relationship with Fonda. Everyone was shocked when Brooke said her mom had feelings for Jimmy Stewart, and they had a secret affair for a whole year while she was married to Fonda. Henry would’ve been really mad, but surprisingly, it didn’t mess up his friendship with Jimmy. Jimmy lived for another fifteen years after Henry died in 1997.
